Prime is the second privately owned national broadcast television station currently available in New Zealand. It broadcasts a varied mix of programming, imported largely from Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as cricket matches and rugby-free union.
It was originally owned by Prime Television Limited in Australia. Prime later entered into a joint venture agreement with Nine Entertainment, making the network's graphics look like Nine Network.
