If everything goes well, 24-year-old Jigme Pelden Dorji will be the first Bhutanese to scale Mount Everest, the tallest peak in the world. Jigme and the Everest expedition team are headed towards Camp One, today. The team will have to ascend four camps before the summit of Mount Everest, which is 8,850 metres above sea level. DRC considering keeping property tax filing open till May end

With the property tax filing season drawing to a close today, there are still approximately 40,000 property owners who have yet to file their property taxes. This is according to the Department of Revenue and Customs. The department is now considering keeping the tax filing open for another month. If approved, this will also apply to personal income taxpayers who earn rental income.

MoESD receives € 1 M from EU and UNICEF partnership to enhance children’s digital learning

To enhance children's digital learning and skill development, and narrow the digital divide, the European Union will provide one million euros to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development. This will be done through a new partnership between the European Union and the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF which was announced in the capital today. The STEM and Innovation Division under the ministry will work closely with UNICEF to implement the initiative. According to the UNICEF Country Representative, the three-year programme will promote digital connectivity and learning opportunities in the country. BOB Bhutan Premier League 2024 set to begin next week

The country’s top-tier professional football league, BOB Bhutan Premier League 2024 is set to begin next week. The opening match will be played between Transport United FC and Tsirang FC. Five top teams from last year's BOB Bhutan Premier League, four top teams from the recently concluded Pepsi Bhutan Premier League qualifiers and a team from BFF Academy will take part in the tournament. Changjiji housing eligibility tightened, Prime Minister sets employment and income requirements

Residents of the Changjiji housing colony can occupy their houses until they retire. However, during Friday’s ‘Meet the Press’ session, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay said that certain conditions must be met to occupy the NHDCL’s affordable houses in Changjiji, Thimphu.
