Television Wakayama Co., Ltd. (TV Wakayama) is a specific terrestrial broadcaster that operates television broadcasting business with Wakayama Prefecture as the broadcasting target area. The abbreviation is WTV. Established on June 1, 1973 and opened on April 1, 1974. Terrestrial digital broadcasting started on October 1, 2006.
Since its opening, it is an independent broadcasting station that does not belong to any affiliate, and is a member of the National Independent Broadcasting Council. However, in the Kinki area, the broadcasting target area of TV Osaka, a TV Tokyo affiliated station, is only Osaka Prefecture, and in Wakayama Prefecture, most areas except for part of Wakayama City cannot receive the station[1]. As a supplement, we purchase and broadcast a large number of TV Tokyo affiliated programs (in the Kinki region, Nara TV in Nara Prefecture and Lake Biwa Broadcasting in Shiga Prefecture are the same). However, except for a few net sales programs such as "World Business Satellite", CM is replaced even if it is simultaneous net.
