RTP2
RTP2 is the second television channel of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, the public radio and television company. Its broadcasts began on December 25, 1968. In 1992, it was renamed TV2. Since then, its programming has been dedicated to culture, documentaries, sports other than football, the arts, science, minorities and children. RTP2 is often considered the reference channel in terms of series and documentaries on Portuguese television.
On January 5, 2004, the channel assumed a new position, changing its name to 2:, separating itself from RTP1, and taking over the Estúdios do Lumiar, in Lisbon, which had been left vacant by the first channel that had moved to the current facilities.
However, on March 19, 2007, it was renamed RTP2 and was once again headquartered in the same premises as RTP1, on Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa, in Lisbon.
