RTP Internacional
It broadcasts worldwide, 48 hours a day. It has specific content for the Portuguese around the world. RTP Internacional was the first global television channel in the Portuguese language. In 1992, on June 10th - Portugal Day -, RTP Internacional broadcasts via satellite to a linguistic territory of more than 200 million inhabitants. Initially, with only six hours a day, the transmission was increased to the current 24 hours a day, in Portuguese. It has a base network of satellites that allow reception anywhere on the globe, as well as the redistribution of the signal to different digital platforms via satellite. RTPi also has a strong penetration in cable networks, maintaining contractual relationships with dozens of local distributors on all continents, with the potential number of subscribers who daily receive RTPi through cable networks, MMDS systems and DTH digital platforms close to 20 millions of homes around the world.
