TG1 is the news program of Rai 1. It is broadcast from the RAI Production Center of Saxa Rubra in Rome. The current news director is Mario Orfeo. Following the Rai reform, from 1 January 1976 there were three editions: at 1.30pm, at 8pm and the night one. On Sundays at 1.00 pm, TG1 was broadcast for 50 minutes, a news and in-depth news magazine with studio guests, interrupted at 1.30 pm by a short 10-minute edition of TG1. The initial characteristics of the newborn TG are the in-depth analysis, especially in the 8 pm edition, which always ends with the section Inside the news.
